All you need for a glowing skin
Why taking a shower is not enough for a glowing skin?
Well, the short answer is because water is not the same thing as sebum.
Now what about the long answer?
Let’s get down to basics. We first need to understand what skin needs and why we moisturise. If we go by the definition, the word ‘moisturise’ is actually kind of misleading as the skin needs much more than just ‘moisture’ or water to be healthy and glowing.
Don’t get me wrong, I truly believe water is amazing and our body thrives on it. But water doesn’t replace or replenish the missing sebum. When the skin is dry or dull or patchy, we need oils to help it get its balance back. Natural botanical oils and butters are nourishing, protective (against UV and weather induced damage) as well as healing and regenerative. And using them after shower on damp skin is exactly what we need to get our glowing skin back. The water helps the oils absorb quicker and more effectively. They work synergetically together.
Now by ‘oils and butters’ I don’t mean ‘creams’. Just because creams have preservatives and highly processed if not downright synthetic waxes in them. (Because of the creams’ water content which calls for something to make oils and water bind together; water being also a good environment for bacteria development and growth.)
