Full of parabens

Are we full of parabens?!? Apparently so. In a study published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology (March 2012), it was found that 99% of breast cancer tissues sampled contained parabens, such as methyl paraben, propyl paraben, isobutyl paraben, ethyl paraben, butyl paraben and E216. These chemicals are commonly used in shampoos, deodorant and antiperspirants, toothpaste, sunscreens, shaving cream, lotions and makeup, that said, items we use on a daily basis or thereabouts. As a woman I think this is absolutely scary and I don’t want to think about how many of these parabens are in my body as a trace of the cosmetics I used to buy. I am steering clear of such chemicals now, but I had used such cosmetics items for years. Is it going to affect me? Or my daughter? Only the future will tell.
Other dirty chemicals that act as hormone disruptors are: BPA/BPS found in plastic lining and plastic packaging, phthalates found in personal care items under “fragrance”, glycol esters listed as butoxyethanol (EGBE) and methoxydiglycol (DEGME), oxybenzone found in body lotions and face creams.
If you see any of these ingredients on a label, then just run as fast as you can. It will save you, not only money, but your own peace of mind and maybe your life. The choice is ours!
